But that was a big ‘No, it’ll give you nightmares!’. I remember the trailer and becoming obsessed with this movie, begging my parents to let me see it. This was ‘forbidden fruit’ when I was a kid. She goes up against the baddest of the bad that the male race has to offer and not only holds her own, but throws a few punches in return. Piper is both a fighter and the heart of the movie. Every script I have ever written has at least one ball busting female lead. It’s my one great theft from the Jimmy C. But “The Terminator” (and most Cameron movies for that matter) offer something else that people tend to overlook, and that’s the incredibly empowered female lead. When it comes to the perfect hunter, it’s hard to beat “The Terminator.” We simply put the robot in a Hugo Boss and gave him an amused attitude and a bounce in his step. We knew early on that our lead would be both chasing and chased. And the movie began to shape out of what that meant, not so much an action, but an attitude. We talked through a lot of scenarios, a lot of different ways the story could go, what it could be called, and then one of us said: “Don’t Drive Angry,” Bill Murray’s line to Punxsutawney Phil while driving headfirst into the bottom of a quarry. The car chase/action/road movie just made sense. We knew we wanted to shoot 3D again but thought we should not do a straight horror, but something that could really push the 3D format. When Todd and I started yacking about what how we wanted to follow up “My Bloody Valentine,” we found ourselves talking ’70’s road movies. They make a case for their film better than I can, so check this out and see if you’re in tune with them, too: They sent over something just for you today, a back-and-forth look at seven movies that left unmistakable fingerprints on “Drive Angry 3D.” Just reading the way they digested these movies, I think you’ll get a real clear idea of whether or not you’re interested in what they’ve done. I find I’m speaking a lot of the same particular language as them, which may be why I enjoy their work. In building their muscle-car mythology, Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer spoke fluent film nerd to each other, as they do in any conversation you have with either of them, and especially when they’re together. Amber Heard is Amber Heard, as preposterously sculpted as ever, and she does indeed play an archetypical Last Girl with a great deal of gusto. Nicolas Cage is so totally in on the joke from the moment he appears onscreen and William Fichtner is commanding, to say the least. If you enjoy fast action movies and want a good show get this one.I’ve seen “Drive Angry 3D” twice now, and I’ll say it plain: it’s fun. The movie also stars: Billy Burke and David Morse With plenty o f action and blood and fast driving scenes this movie is a thrill-a-minute and very high performance The movie starts out fast with a scene where Cage takes down some men to get information as to where his grand-child is and it keeps going from there. He is being chanced by "The Accountant" (William Fichtner) who wants to return Milton to hell where he escaped from. Milton (Cage) meets up with Piper (Amber Heard) a waitress he saves from being beaten by her boy friend and the two of them travel across country to find King and save his grand-daughter and save the world. Nicolas Cage is a man on a mission, he is trying to find his grand-daughter, who was taken by Jonah King (Billy Burke) a cult leader in order to perform a ritual that will create a "hell on earth" by allowing Satan to have dominion over the planet. With each passing minute, Milton's last shot at redemption is fading, and the fate of the entire world inches ever closer to infernal darkness. Unfortunately for Milton, the cops are quickly closing in, and the Devil's determined minion, "The Accountant" (William Fichtner), will stop at nothing to drag him back down to Hell. But should Jonah get the opportunity to make his dark sacrifice, he will become the most powerful man alive and all of humanity will suffer. With Piper's help and a mean set of wheels to keep them moving, they may have a shot at taking down diabolical cult leader Jonah King (Billy Burke) before he achieves his malevolent goal. With just three days to go before the ritual killing, Milton crosses paths with knockout waitress Piper (Amber Heard), who steals her cheating ex-boyfriend's vintage Charger and joins him on his quest to save the Earth from the forces of darkness. Nicolas Cage headlines this high-octane thriller as Milton, a hard-case felon who breaks out of Hell to prevent the cult that murdered his daughter from sacrificing his infant granddaughter to Satan on the night of the full moon.
